Senior Design Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a retail manufacturer - we are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to lead our design team to research and develop new products and systems within the Automation industry. 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Manage and develop the Design Engineering team
• Working in collaboration with our Technical Team to undertake analysis as required on existing products to continuously improve and implement product efficiency, costs, and overall performance of the product.
• Working in a collaborative manner with our Technical and Marketing teams for the ongoing improvement of the product portfolio
• Create factory drawings and instructions for product control along with the training of manufacturing operatives
• Product failure investigations and root cause investigations identifying the correction action required.

Candidate profile:

• Proven experience of a product design environment
• Fluent use of CAD systems
• Ideally people management experience.

You will need great communication skills, be self-motivated, energetic and proven influencing skills with the confidence in challenging the status quo.
